A whimsical reinvention of Dickens’ most beloved Christmas story in wacky rhymed couplets. With zoot fruited juices and binka bird geese, from Bed-Headed Fred to Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorious holiday cheer is similar to something Dr. Seuss might have come up with — if he ever had his way with the story…
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Desi Brown and Rachel Cross, two moms whose kids had developed a love for theatre, both desired to create something new in the Richardson, TX area. They wanted a theatre where kids could get all the incredible lessons theatre has to offer – teamwork, bravery, performance, etc. – in a loving and caring environment. They wanted a place where kids and their well-being would come first.
As they attempted to name the theater one word kept coming up – accolade. Many community theatres sell accolade ads in their playbills to help cover the costs of a performance. These ads are for families to celebrate their kids who are performing in the show and heap praise on them in a public way – just the kind of thing Desi and Rachel wanted their new theatre to be all about.
Accolade is a new organization with a huge heart and big dreams. We hope you’ll decide to join us in the journey ahead.
